How many jobs should I apply to per week?
Aim for 5 to 15 well-tailored applications a week rather than blasting 100 generic ones. Tailored applications convert far better — mass-applying with one resume mostly feeds the rejection pile. If you have limited time, fewer high-quality, customised applications to roles you genuinely fit will get more interviews.
The temptation to auto-apply everywhere is understandable given how tough the market is, but response rates on untailored applications are brutally low. Spend the time you'd waste on volume tailoring instead.
